Description

Alium Spiritum and members of the Watershed Journal Literary Group will perform a concert of music and readings at Brookville Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27. The concert is part of the 200th Anniversary celebration of the church.

Alium Spiritum will premiere new music composed by members of the group, including Brookville native Sean Taylor’s “Salvation,” based on inscriptions by Douglas Stahlman found in Brookville’s Scripture Rocks Heritage Park, Lara Alami’s “We Can Do Small Things with Great Love” with the words of Mother Theresa, and other new and traditional spirituals, classical, and folk music. Member of the Watershed Journal Literary Group will read stories and poetry related to the music performed.

The concert will feature soprano Diane Walters Taylor (Brownsville, TX), alto Lara Alami (Detroit, MI), Daniel Parks (Williamsburg, VA), and Sean Taylor, (Brownsville, TX). The concert is offered to the public free of charge thanks to the continued support of Historic Brookville, Inc. and sponsors in the Brookville community. No reservations are required, but RSVP’s are welcomed by emailing info@aliumspiritum.org.
